Update 2: Clinique Dark Spot Corrector

Update 2 on the Clinique Dark Spot corrector treatment,  to view update one with details about pigmentation and this product see here.

Let me just start by saying that one bottle of this stuff used every day, morning and night has lasted me 8 weeks, which is pretty good as the consultant told me I would only get 4 weeks’ worth of use out of it. So if you are interested in the product, and the consultant is being pushy towards you purchasing the large bottle –don’t be fooled the small one goes a long way!

When photographing my face (as you do) I really wanted my picture to emphasise how much this product didn’t work for me, but instead my picture (as you can see below) looks a teeny bit deceiving. After four weeks I did notice a slight difference in my pigmentation and the overall texture of my skin had improved. The area looked slightly lighter, and my skin felt incredibly smooth. After 8 weeks I really wanted to see something drastic. As I mentioned in update 1 pigmentation is meant to increase in darkness when it’s brought to the top layer of your skin, so with continued use I did think that my pigmentation may start to appear darker, or lighter or reduced…or something. No difference between 4 and 8 weeks guys, I will continue on with this product and give you one final update (as this is meant to be a 12 week treatment.) But so far I am disappointed in this product, as this makes bold statements about having the ability to lighten dark marks in 4 weeks…

I just wanted to add that Clinique recommend exfoliation and SPF daily before and after this product which I have being doing throughout my trial.

I already have another dark spot corrector in the pipeline to put to the test, but does anyone have any recommendations for lightening dark spots and pigmentation? Has anyone tried this range from Clinique?

I can definitely see the difference from the before, to the four weeks photos but when you pay so much money for a product like this, I totally agree you expect something greater at week 8. I'm sure No7, Philosophy and Vichy to dark spot correctors but have never used them.

Look forward to seeing more updates!

I've tried the range and I like the moisturizer because it is quite thick and hydratating, but it did not help that much with dark spots. A range that worked for me was Garnier Pure Active and it is a drugstore brand so it is quite affordable! Vichy Idealia works too for me, but it is quite heavily scented so I am not sure that you'll like it.

I'm afraid that there is no product out there that can truly lighten dark spots. Improve, maybe, but make them disappear? I don't think so. So I'm sorry that this was a disappointment :-(

Shame there wasn't a massive difference. Clinique are usually good but they can be a little gentle...to get rid of a spot, most of the time you need something strong!

Thanks for stopping by and comment, I did notice a difference with 4 weeks, you sure do especially when it makes such bold claims, I think they should be more transparent with products like this as I know nothing's going to make them disappear completely I just want to improve the look and texture of my skin! I think Vichy and La Roche posay do cheaper alternatives I'm not sure which one to try next,... I think I might go for something a little cheaper it'll make for an interesting comparison haha :D xx

Thanks for stopping by and comment :D my skin is usually fine with scented stuff it's been so sensitive lately I'm not sure how it'd handle it :( I think I might try one from La Roche posay next. Yeah I don't know ho u feel about this Clinique range I think for the price I'd expect a little better I guess....:D xx

Thanks for comment I know :( I think overall I'm just looking for something that will lighten them slightly, and improve my overall skin condition I think though that products like this certainly prevent any future dark spots which is definitely what I'm going for I don't want anymore haha :( x

Thanks for comment, I'm looking at lighten hyper pigmentation not so much spots, more the dark mark they leave behind :( just looking for something that could help the overall texture and appearance :) I find Clinique products pretty harsh the majority are loaded with alcohol too x

Thanks for comment I know :(, I don't think I'm being too unrealistic either I mean I know there's no product that's going to rid them completely I just want something that hopefully can improve the look and texture of my skin x
